• Simply put, retro-reflectors are devices that operate by returning light back to the light source along the same light direcion, in the case of aviation, the aircrafts own landing lights.

• Retroreflectivity incorporates the science of Galileo (optics) with Newton (conservation of energy), Einstein (general relativity) and Schrödinger (quantum mechanics). The retro reflector looks simple and similar to ordinary reflective devices, however the similarity ends there.
